Olivella, SpainHola friends & family!
G&K
It’s just your typical ‘boy-meets-boy-at-a-drag-show’ story. After decades of searching for each other in vain, fate and diva extraordinaire Dina Martina brought us together. That was over six years ago and ever since our relationship together has been, as Dina would say, ‘off the charts!’ and ‘high-quality!’
Nine short months after meeting, Garrett proposed moving into a home together, and while we were at it, why not renovate that home for national television? Little did we know that we’d wash, rinse, and repeat that process multiple times thereafter…just not for national television.
Over six years in six homes, we’ve adopted our kids, Iggy and Archie, embraced suburban life (if only part time), and found our proverbial white picket fence. What could be more wholesome?
But enough about us. Let’s get to the stuff you’ve been clamoring for–the juicy details!
Where do I go? How do I get there? Wait, is this a Wendys™? We’ve got answers!
Casa Felix is an antique villa set in the small village of
Olivella, in Spain’s Catalonia region.
Address: BV-2111, s/n, 08818 Olivella, Barcelona, Spain
Phone: +34 938 96 80 94
Website: casa-felix.es
While Olivella is rather sleepy, the beach resort of Sitges is an easy 15 minute drive and home to many hotels, restaurants and lovely beaches. For a more cosmopolitan experience, the city of Barcelona with it’s myriad architectural, gastronomic and cultural wonders lies just 45 minutes to the north.
We have a limited number of bedrooms on the property that we will be offering to several guests before year end 2022. For everyone else we recommend staying in the nearby beach town of Sitges.
Sitges is a seaside town in Spain's Catalonia region, southwest of Barcelona, sometimes called the St.Tropez of Spain. Backed by the mountainous Parc Natural del Garraf, it's known for its beautiful Mediterranean beaches and seafront promenade lined with grand mansions. The compact old town and surrounding streets are filled with shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
We recommend staying at one of these hotels. Note: the discount offered was not significant enough to warrant booking a block of rooms so please book on your own. Hotel MiM is a four star hotel with a pool located close to the beach. ME Sitges Terramar is also an upscale hotel close to the beach. And here are two additional stays that come recommended:
We highly recommend that you spend some time in the stunning city of Barcelona during your trip. Kristian & Garrett will be arriving there on Saturday July 1 before heading to Casa Felix on Tuesday July 4.
Barcelona is rich with things to do and see, and has so many fantastic hotels in which to live out your fantasy Spanish life.
Here are just a few recommendations should you plan to spend time in this fabulous city:
Getting to Barcelona: The easiest way to get to the Casa Felix is to fly into Barcelona.
However, you can also fly into many major European cities and connect to Barcelona via a local low-fare carrier like easyjet. London, Paris, and Madrid are all less than two hours to Barcelona.
To get from Barcelona to Sitges or Olivella you can take a train, taxi, or rental car. It's about 45 minutes from BCN to either Sitges or Casa Felix. If you are staying at Casa Felix take a car service or rent a car. A car allows you freedom and trains do not go directly to Los Olivella. Taxis from BCN are affordable at around 70€. Alternately you can book a car service through blacklane.com. If you have been staying in Barcelona and will stay in Sitges, you may opt for a Renfre train. The taxi ride from Sitges to the villa is about 20 minutes. For day of wedding and other key events, we will provide shuttle buses between Casa Felix and Sitges.
Thank you for RSVP'ing to these events! The Sitges meeting location for all shuttle buses (where indicated below) will be at the MiM Hotel.
For the wedding, the look is Midsummer Mediterranean Garden Party. Sun-soaked vibes, linens, cotton, silk, creams & off-whites, light summer colors, fresh florals, quiet luxury, euro lower royalty, party-ready looks at home in the Hamptons or Saint Tropez, chic but not fussy, sharp but not formal.
Optional wardrobe change: As evening turns to night, we’ll take to the dance floor. If you’re feeling the vibe, bring out the glitz & glamour and dress to disco! What does this mean? Sexy, fashionable, glossy & flossy---this ain't Halloween! (Feel free to camp it up for poolside recovery the next day though)
For all other occasions please feel free to dress for comfort in warm weather.
No gifts please.
